Jagged edges on DVD or Bluray

Postby Romsdale » Mon Feb 29, 2016 5:01 pm

Can anyone help with the best setting, or conversion of phantom pro footage for DVD or Bluray (I shoot in 1080 25P)

The footage looks great when rendered out and used online, but when i render the footage as part of a interlaced mpeg2 for DVD or Bluray, the straight edges look shocking, jagged edges etc - this never use to happen on the old gopro !!!

Any help would be great.

This is almost certainly a video compression problem, try an option to use a lossless AVI and then encode that to MPEG-2 DVD.
The 25fps progressive is being converted to 540 lines for one frame, then (down a line) 540 lines for the next frame and well known artefact are the jagged edges.

Does your software have a de-interlace option, if so try that.
