Spreading Wings Landing Gear Refusing to Calibrate

Postby bcdebusk » Sat Feb 22, 2014 3:00 am

When I start up, I get the blinking green light on my landing gear indicating it isn't calibrated.

So I:

1) Suspend the craft in the air so there is zero load on the landing gear.

2) Verify that the gear can freely move up and down on both sides.

3) Power the craft with the calibration button (on the landing gear) pressed.

4) Observe the yellow flashing light

5) Press the calibration button a second time, which should start the calibration sequence.

Then...

1) The left motor pulses for a brief moment (a fraction of a second), but nothing happens.

2) The gear light goes solid Yellow

3) Show's over... nothing else happens from there.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Could my servos be damaged or burned out? Everything appears to be connected correctly. Should my radio be off or on? Should I have IOS on or off?

I have a S-800 with Futaba 14sg and the thing gave me a fit. Check to make sure that end points are 100 in your transmitter. Yes, transmitter on. One thing I found out with the DJI A-2 is that retract will not work below 5m. unless you switch the gear retract switch several times, I have to look it up to be sure, but it is in the manual.

I found the problem as to why it won't recalibrate.

I had a "hard" landing a while back (a.k.a. a crash) and it damaged both of the servo knuckles. Basically the gear will stay in an up or down position thanks to the springs and mechanism. But neither servo is capable of moving the arm.

Would anyone know where I could buy a new pair of knuckles reasonably inexpensively? It would be a left and right pair of servo assemblies including the parts that connect the landing legs to the 12mm rods on the top of the gear.

Try rc timer.com they do a copy landing gear I am sure if you look you will find the parts you need just send them an email with the dji part number and description and I am sure they will have the parts even if not on their site

I know this is an old thread, but was having the same issues until I came across another thread on here that suggested tightening the grub screws that lock the servo output shaft...Fook me , it worked.
